I currently have a Campingaz Lagon (the same as a Campingaz Basecamp but without a lid, about 10 years old but used very little) and I would like to get a stove that has a grill. Which brand/model is a good one to get? I like the look of the Campingaz Chef and the Royal one which folds up into a case.

There's a comment in this thread about a stove of similar appearance to the Royal one.

If you only want a grill for toast, though, this type of folding toaster is pretty effective and faster than a grill, in my experience!

You cant go far wrong with the Campingaz ones I personally think they are about the best and the grill actually grills, may be a bit more expensive but they normally last very well ours is over 25 years old now and still works just as well as when it was new

Hi

I have to say Arsenaldes is right, I have sold many brands of two burner and grill and the campingaz have always been the best quality, some of the cheaper ones have been ok but they are defo not the quality. The only other ones I like are the Outwell triple burner, not got a grill but they do have a griddle plate.

We have a sungas 3 burner and love it although only has a folding grill which is a mesh thingy which comes down over one of the burners - I love it. The first one we bought was a gelert with lid & grill but never really got on with it - now up for sale.

If you don't currently have a kitchen unit or need to save space - the Campingaz stoves with attachable legs are a good buy (shop around as you can get good deals). With the windshields making side shelves, adjustable legs and shelf underneath they make an incredibly useful, stable and compact kitchen set-up, that only takes up the same space as the stove itself when packed. We don't have a grill, we use a folding single slice toaster over a burner which is so fast we've used it as a party trick before now. We have a full griddle and water tray that interchanges with the burners on our Campingaz stove - makes a fab cooked breakfast and is easy to clean because of the water tray.

-------------
Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

I used to have the SunGas one . Loved it to bits ; got it because of the toaster really .

Have since downsized and sold it to a friend . Would have still had it had I had the room in the car

otherwise im very happy with it.

This is what you need:
heat diffuser

It will keep food hot on a very low heat and stops the bottom of the pan from burning.

Thank you all for replying I might just keep my two burner basic Lagon and get one of those grill tray things. I already have the folding toaster, they work well...I was thinking more for grilling sausages etc but if I can use the grill tray on one of the burners, that solves that problem. Only thing with my Lagon is that is doesn't have a lid so I have to transport it in it's bulky box.

Have you got a link that shows what this is please.  Sounds ideal.

This is probably what is being referred to. We have an Extra and swear by it.

Tesco have recently done them at very good price .... but it may only be the basic version.
