Having just returned from our first very wet and windy holiday (how we've escaped the British weather before now I have no idea) I'm wondering if there are pegs which are more likely to stay in the muddy/waterlogged ground and high winds?
I use diamond rock pegs they are about 8 in long with a screw thread and put them in with a battery screw driver, they have never let me down and easy to get out.Ian

we used the infamous Delta pegs in a very wet and windy Snowdonia a couple of years ago...the ground we were pitched on was completely waterlogged to the extent that the ground water started seeping up thru our SIG after only the 5th day of a 2 week holiday, but the Deltas held firm, even in gale force winds...

Another vote for Deltas. The softer the ground the wider the peg should be

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I use rock pegs and put in two crossed over on the mail points if the ground is very soft and it is very windy.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

We just did 2 weeks in Devon with a combination of deltas and the yellow plastic power pegs from halfords. Tent did not budge in the windy wet weather and ground was soft. It was actually a struggle to get pegs out!
