We purchased an aerobed in September last year. On arrival we pumped it up and left it for a short time. All seemed good.

Just before we went away this Summer, we got it back out the bag and pumped it up again to check all was still fine, and yes it was.

Due to it taking up all the space in our lounge we only left it for an hour at most.

We were away for 3 weeks and every night we had to inflate it a bit. By the end of the 3 weeks we were inflating it quite a bit and the amount it went down was quite noticeable after just a few hours.

I have emailed aerobed twice and had no response. I have now called them. The lady was going to email me with advice, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Quite disappointed as at £109 I expected something much better. But my worry is that as we are now a year on from purchase is it too late. Any suggestions?

Forget email, I always call, sounds like the valves I spoke with a guy called Ronald and he sent a repair kit and an extra valve to remidy the problem very similar to yours. I have just received the above today so around 3 days for delivery if it remedies the problem I will not know until I have tried myself.

The valves are £1.99 if you wanted to give it a go...if aerobed say it is out of your warranty, when did you send the email? was that within the warranty period?

Hope this helps.

Surfspud, is it only going down when you sleep on it, or all the time?

I ask beacause, being no lightweight myself, ours goes down slightly overnight as the self adjusting valve releases air to reduce the pressure on the seams. When one of us gets off in the morning it feels flatter.....however, it stays inflated fully during the daytime.

If its going down when you`re nowhere near it then it may be the valve, as previously suggested.

Sorry, forgot to return.

It goes down all the time. I was pumping it up late afternoon but by bedtime would need doing again. It was quite a noticeable difference by then.

We bought the bed on September 19th so one year tomorrow. Still no email so will have to call again I guess. Annoying thing is the first two emails were through their site so I have no proof I sent them.

As you have kept your e-mails this is proof that the airbed is not fit for purpose and therefore they will have to honour the warranty.  We have had 3 - 2 are still going strong but one of them also keeps going down even with a new valve in.

Keep on at them until they either replace the entire bed or send you another valve to try.

We bought an aerobed too and to be honest haven't been impressed at all. We got the one with the rechargeable pump and the first night camping we had a flat pump and a half inflated bed (yes we had charged it as per instructions). Thankfully it had a 12v lead too so i had to pop it out to the car, much to the bemusement of our fellow campers.

Pump seems better now but it never stays fully inflated, needing to be pumped up every day. Our cheap tesco one was much better in all honesty.

I think aerobed arn't as good as many seem to make out and, excuse the pun, prices are over inflated (guess thats the only thing that they really do well, with the air bed itself being under inflated lol). Won't get another.

I recently bought an Single Aerobed Active Raised for £30 (Down from £129).

We needed to replace one of our SIMs, so at this point I thought I would give it a go.

For the first 8 Nights My Wife had it, and it stayed up the entire period, without any addition inflation, I admit it was slightly softer come the end, but not an issue.

For the last 6 nights (Moved on to another Site), I used the Airbed. The first 2 nights no problem. and then we moved on to another site.

The Pump went flat pumping it, so it was not as inflated as normal, so the next night I pumped it the next day when I had recharged the pump. It stayed up until the end. Again Slightly softer by the end of the period, but did not need pumping up any more.

I am 6 '3 " and 23st (and Coming down from a peak of 25st +....) and I can't fault it. It passed my testing !

The Wife says we should have bought 2 at that price, but, I wasn't prepared to do so with my previous experience with Airbeds. Saying that if they are available at the right price again, we will get another.

Just my tu'ppence worth

Best Regards
Nathan

I have to say we`ve had 4 aerobeds, 2 doubles and 2 singles, One of the doubles my cat punctured but the rest are still working fantastically, the pumps and everything. Ours are the ones specifically made for outdoors......are the ones that are going down the `ordinary sort`? IYSWIM.
