Can anyone help me before I go and spend a load of money ??? We bought a 2006 Sterling Eccles Moonstone in April with a Truma mover. It didn't come with any instructions but, on the two occassions we have had to use it, it worked well. Recently like today, leaving The Caravan and Camping site at Tavistock, it refused to work even though the 'van battery is fully charged. The batteries are new in the remote. I have checked the fuse which seems okay but, there are three Led's on the top of the unit that don't seem to do anything. Am I doing something wrong ? Should I be able to see the drive wheels revolve when not pushed against the wheels ? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Thanks for all the advice. As to a reset button, I couldn't find one on the receiver. I am not sure of the model number as it was a used model sold by Glossop caravans ( I will never deal with them again) It does have 3 lights on the top that are not lit but, if I take off one of the mains leads and replace it, they all flash for a second. How would I know if the thing is working ?
still sounds like the battery voltage could be too low to operate the mover.needs to be at 12.7 volts (full) to operate.can you try another battery
or charge the one you have?
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
".... Should I be able to see the drive wheels revolve when not pushed against the wheels ?...."
Yes.
If you have used it before and are familiar with the activation routine of the remote, the only thing I can suggest - and this has caught me out - is that when you have finished with the mover you MUST to return the isolator switch to off. If you do not do this, the mover shuts down after about 1 min. That is the only thing that you might possibly be "...doing...wrong..."
So try switching the isolator to OFF for about 2 mins then ON again, and see if it goes.
If you think the problem is other than the proverbial 'finger trouble', respectfully suggest getting an engineer to look to it.
Hi Michael, I took it to my independent tyre Company who tested it and it showed 12.8 volts. I will try it on the 'van tomorrow with the advice from Johnjory. I didn't go for the drop test as the ground was concrete and would have mean't a new battery (Ha,Ha ). Johnjory, this caravan hasn't got an isolator switch because when we bought the caravan from Glossop caravans, they fitted this used mover as part of the deal and didn't think to install a switch to our Caravan. What, if in the meantime I disconnected the feed for two minutes and then reconnected ? If that doesn't work, I will book it in with my service guy who is on holiday until the 15th of October. Lucky for some eh ? Thanks to the two of you for all your help.

Yes, that would certainly have the same effect.
The isolator I referred to was for the mover itself. Usually somewhere near the battery end of things either outside, in the battery compartment or inside under the seat. It is quite a large switch and will look something like this
I'm surprised it does not have one otherwise the electronic control box for the mover would be powered all the time - unless it is shut down by the remote maybe?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I HAVE A TRUMA SE MOVER AND IF YOU DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE BATTERY ISOLATER IT ONLY RUNS FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS . YOU MUST ISOLATE AFTER USE ,
SO ISOLATE BATTERY BUT I WOULD LEAVE IT OFF OVER NIGHT THEN TRY AGAIN IT NEEDS A WHILE TO RESET .THE ISOLATER SHOULD BE IN THE BATTERY BOX WITH A RED KEY. MAKE SURE YOU TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY ON ABOUT HALF A TURN .
Thanks for that. I have taken the battery of and will try again next week when we go off to Dartmoor for 10 days. I have got an isolator switch which I shall fit once we have got settled. I shall disconnect the mover until this is fitted.
THE BATTERY ISOLATOR IS ONLY FITTED TO THE MOVER POSITIVE RED WIRE NOT THE BATTERY OUT TO CARAVAN VERY STRANGE SHOULD BE ONE FITTED ALREADY .MY ONE IS UNDER MAINS CONNECTION NEXT TO BATTERY ,
