For my Design and Technology A Level project I have decided to manufacture a multifunctional camping bed that can convert into a chair. I have written a specification and would like you to answer this quick questionaire below and give me some feedback and possible changes that you recomend.

Saw a similar post on a 'rival' forum, wonder if it's the same person:

Hi,

I am a design student and interested in the subject of getting a good night's sleep whilst camping...

Maybe you could help me out with the below questions?

What is most important for you when looking for a camping sleep solution?
Warmth?
Affordability?
Weight?
Added storage?
Improved functionality (e.g. modular...)?
Ease of use (assembly/ disassembly/ cleaning)?
Aesthetics?

Would you be interested in a sleep solution that you could perhaps also use as seating/ storage?

Any other comments gratefully received!

Many Thanks

Doesn't the market already carry a wide range of beds that fit the parameters? I use one designed for carp fishing. It's built like a tank, adjustable legs, usable as a chair or a bed and anything in between, not to heavy, reasonably compact and superbly comfortable.

Of all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most.

To HT James "Doesn't the market already carry a wide range of beds that fit the parameters?" : it does but it would interesting to see what these chaps come up with and they should be encouraged in their endeavours. You never know it could be something that will revolutionise the camp bed world! It's good to think outside the box, that's how we got Delta pegs!

Without seeing the specification it is hard to comment but in general my biggest issue with this kind of furniture is that it is far too small, but I am 6'6" (198cm in new money) tall so I'm probably not your average camper.
