OK, I'll bite. It's a solar rechargeable lantern. Which puts out 15 lumens of light, compared to the 300 lumen Outwell 300LX (same as my excellent Varta) or 400 lumen 400LX-R (better than my excellent Varta :-( )

What use is 15 or 40 lumens except as a night light? Admittedly I've not seen it or used it in action, but I doubt that I could go to any reseller ask them to turn out the lights whilst I try it?!

And it's rechargeable via a solar panel. Doesn't that mean it has to be left out during the day to be charged up. Outside. In the sun. Making it very attractive to those with sticky hands?!

I don't see the point or use of them? Anybody care to enlighten me?

Had a solar/wind up lantern and it was pants. The light wasn't very bright and didn't last very long no matter how long you left it out or wound it up for.
We use electric now

You could say it was as much use as a solar powered torch .

I'll try and stay on topic now (ish) I was once given a wind up/solar powered radio as a birthday present it only ran for about 30 mins for 2 mins winding and the solar panel was there purely for show.

I've got a wind up lantern & yes, it is only good for a night light, handy for use if you want to get up for the bog in't middle of night etc, but thats about it. They do have their place if you just need a little bit of light & saves taking spare batteries.

I had a radio/torch/alarm clock that was solar/wind/electric rechargable and it wasn't great, hubby still uses it as an alarm clock as that part has its own battery.

I had been looking at the solar powered shed lights as they have a few metres of cable between the light fitting and the solar panel so would do the job just need to mount it to something.
