Hi there,
I'm looking to purchase some moon chairs, however problem I have is OH is quite short and the Hi-Gear ones we tried in Go dug in to the backs of her legs when sat. Can I have some recommendations off of you lovely lot please? Something with good padding along the front edge, or maybe an inch or 2 shorter than the Hi-Gear ones.
Thanks

I find the same problem in most of that style of folding chairs, they're very taught across the front and cut in to the back of your legs, (and I'm 6' so it's not a case of short legs) We tried some "moon" style chairs at Millets ( I think it was) they were quite large but very comfortable as the front wasn't under tension, they weren't cheap at around £50 I think. Didn't buy any as we have so many anyway but was reasonably impressed.
I have the same problem, and use an extra large moon chair from Go, so my dog can sit with me. I solved the problem, which also happens with my normal folding chairs as well, by having a folding foot stool to rest my legs on. I also have a back problem, so can't sit with my legs down for long any way.

Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
I'm very short and after a lengthy trip to GO I found the Hi Gear Nebraska chair was really comfy, and pretty much the only one that didn't dig into my legs. It does however seem to have a design fault in that the stitching on the central panel comes apart.
I've used this to my advantage and got a very cheap returned one, because I can either live with the fault or repair it. But, it depends what your take on this is. But I think I can pretty much guarantee that the stitching WILL go on those central seams.
I'm also with your wife in liking to sit with my feet up, but I don't think I could do that in the Nebraska. Might need another chair as well then....
recently bought vango moon dlx chair after reading someone elses thread on moon chairs, they are big enough to be able to rest your head at the back and dont seem to cut into the backs of legs as bad as many others i have tried but they still do to a slight extent, problem easily solved if you a, curl up in chair
b, sit cross legged
c, have a stool as a foot rest
d, use your partners matching chair as a foot rest
ok so the chairs are not the cheapest but reviews are excellent and should last many years . i got mine for £40 each from here http://www.caseysoutdoorleisure.co.uk/item/Vango/Moon-Chair-DLX-Black/2R2

Sometimes I think youre better off just buying the cheap £5ish chairs as these seem to last a lot better than their more expensive counterparts. We used these for years before "upgrading" to 4 Outwell Black Hills chairs all of which split at the seams on the seat pad, these were replaced under warranty and the replacements all split in exactly the same place,, these were not part of the same batch as the originals were 2011 and the replacements were 2012. Also have a Hi Gear Moon chair the red and black fabric one and that split on both seams at the side of the seat pad and the replacement have done the same
