Has anyone used a Kelly Kettle and if so what's your verdict? They look like a fab bit of kit but I don't want to shell out if it's a waste of time.

Kelly kettles are a fantastic piece of kit under the right circumstances. They are good under "survival" scenarios where foraging for twigs etc can cook your dinner. But as a main reliable stove you can do better, if your looking for simplicity look at the trangia range. For fun and messing about use the kelly kettle, i sometimes carry one as a backup but never had to use it.

Id be a bit wary of drinking water from a stream or Loch/lake these days.Pollution is everywhere and even in a highland stream there is a risk of a dead sheep upstream or pollutants from a forest or even run off water from the land.This was also shown on a tv survival program.
