Could someone please help me in telling me where to look to buy kids sleeping bags?

We are starting camping for the first time this year and will be camping from May through to end of August on and off (well thats the plan) and so thought I best buy proper 2-3 season sleeping bags for us all?

do i need 3 season or 2?

Where can I get kids ones from? I can't seem to find any? I have a 6 year old a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old?

And lastly would anyone recommend the double sleeping bags for me and hubby? or should we just have individual or a duvet?

I personally never bothered with children's sized sleeping bags. We just bought our boys adult 2-3 season bags and tucked the excess under at the bottom.
Never had a problem with them slipping down inside the bag and, as they all grew so quickly, we weren't having to buy new sleeping bags each season.

Personally we use separate sleeping bags as I don't like to feel hemmed in and usually don't bother zipping the bag up whereas OH likes to be zipped and toggled in.
The 2 bags we bought can be zipped together to form a double.

I'm with Helen, buy them adult bags and just fold or tie the end bit (this stops them having a cold bit at the bottom). We got our sons from Millets.

Me and my DH have separate bags as we sleep on separate beds when camping as we both find we sleep better this way. You may find a double a bit restrictive. Duvets are fine but are quite bulky to pack, though you can put them in vac bags. I tried a duvet and found it very cold personally but everyone is different. It might worth trying it and if it works it saves you spending money on sleeping bags.

I'd recommend you go for at least a 3 season sleeping bag.

agree with Helen also mine have adult bags!!! from age 2 aswell
For us we keep changing our minds!! an open double was fine for 1st 2 years!! then 1 season we were cold!! so then we decided on kingsize quilt (we have plenty of room) But this season i am thinking of getting the gelert pods!!

Again we never bothered with with kids sleeping bags always used adult ones. As for season it all depends how they feel the cold, we tried the Gelert pods but found they werent very warm, but I would have thought any decent 2 or 3 seasons bags would be ok. Have a look on the field & trek website as they are selling off some Vango ones

Save your money and buy 3 to 4 season adult sleeping bags . 2 season bags can be a little cold although fleece liners or blankets can make a big differance .

As most people have recommended, adult sleeping bags do the job fine. Just make sure they are at least 3 or 4 season bags. Nothing worse than having a cold child through the night. They will be toasty warm in a 3 or 4 season bag. Also make sure they wear decent night ware and are warm before they go to bed. It's half the battle.

I find it hard to sleep in a single sleeping bag, I feel very restricted and trapped, not that im claustraphobic or anything, I just dont like not being able to stretch my legs out!
When camping (a very long time ago) the misses and I used to zip two single bags together to make one big one, much more space in than a double! - mind you, that was long before the bags with tapered feet and hoods came out!

We have the Coleman Hampton singles, our 5 year old uses a junior Coleman Hampton and will last years it huge,mi also fold the end under. These bags are flannelette lined so really cosy :)
