AS previously posted, I have stopped tent camping. I Freecycled a couple of items which soon went to someone starting camping. Another lady involved with scouting missed out but I offered her my tent, tarps and various equipment free of charge. I didn't want the hassle of advertising and selling, and urgently need the space. I had a lovely email of acceptance telling me about the scout group they will be going to. Yes, I could have done with the money, but I am richer for knowing others will be able to enjoy what I once did. That is reward enough.

Ah, that's lovely Mavis Thank you for sharing that with us. Hope you can find another managable way to enjoy the great outdoors in the future It may be hard to let go of your beloved tents, but there is life after camping you know.
I agree, fantastic to help people out, especially in these really hard times. Great you got a letter back to thank you as well - so many people forget to do this these days. I hope you can find another way of getting out in the great outdoors.
Thanks for your comments. I like RTS5's comment "Gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling which is worth far more than money"
A friend said she would rather I sell and put money to 'a good holiday' in other words something like a coach or hotel holiday. For me on my own that would be the horrors, and to be told when to have meals etc even worse.
I have many pleasant memories and have pleasure in knowing I am helping young people to create their own camping memories. Now if anyone knows of a small static holiday caravan maybe on a farm, not on a big caravan park ........let me know
