The end of an era of tent camping. Some gear went to a young family starting camping. Tent, tarps, camp bed, and more went to a Scout group who have their own camp grounds but need to replace tents, etc. I feel so happy that many people will enjoy my gifts to them. Even happier to be asked if I'd like to visit the Scout camp and enjoy the skills I enjoyed learning as a Girl Guide - using an axe, building a real campfire, and share of times when I taught Girls Brigade DofE Expedition.
If you have tents or gear you no longer need please consider your local youth groups. The pleasure of giving can exceed that of getting.

Why not help the scouts on a regular basis. I know when I was a group scout leader we were always desperate for helpers. I doubt much has changed and I am sure you have valuable skills.
I'm not going to be a leader. I know what that involves and my health precludes many activities, which is why I've stopped camping. It is like a thank you, for me to visit the camp, chat about what I've done, do a bit of 'hands on' camp fire stuff if I want to.
