If you've ever tried looking for a padded solar panel storage bag, you'll know that they're *very* hard to find.
The ones available are either 'industrial' versions - meant for hoisting large solar panels up to a house roof, or are thin unpadded, unzipped, 'shopping bag' types (which are far too small for a decent sized leisure panel, anyway)
You can get them made - but the going rate appears to be around £60 + P&P.
Having given the matter some thought, I discovered that a 'body surf board' bag was of a sufficient width, and was also very well padded. (not being a surfing aficionado, I'm unsure why these bags are so generously padded - surely surf boards are petty much unbreakable?)
Anyway, they *are* well padded, and make a really good storage bag for a solar panel in transit.
Our panel is about 900 mm long - which takes it nicely to the top of the bag, just before the zipped curve begins. (see pic in link below) There is a large pocket into which the unused curved bit can be folded over and tucked into.
The carrying back straps can be easily removed/cut off, if desired.
I've no connection with the seller (other tthan as a buyer) but it's the cheapest and best storage solution I've been able to find in weeks of searching.
