That's it!!! I have been conducting peace talks with our Multimat double SIM for almost 12 months. I have been patching potential leaks and cajoling it in to telling me what the problem is with no joy!! I have used patches and tenacious tape and still the problem persists. I have to say I am get close to using unauthorised water torture techniques to get answers before descending into full scale war!!!! When camping last Easter we found that our sim was deflating veeerrryyy slowly overnight. I found a hole and patched it...still deflated albeit slightly slower than previously but not much. We tolerated having to puff extra air in at bed time but continued trying to locate where the flipping air was escaping!!! I am tempted to just replace it but it has become a personal vendetta on mybehalf to find the problem. So...before I submerge the entire thing in the bath...are there any other things I can try. Have tried submerging the valves already...nothing there. The time has come...it's the mat or me!!!!
I know exactly how you feel! I hate giving up on something - however, you have tried for almost 12 months now. Relax, have a cuppa, then chuck it out and get a new one.... after you have submerged the whole thing in the bath, just to see....
we had the same problem with a double so we bought two singles then at least only one person gets a rough night and cheeper to replace if needs be . . You can get the joining velcro kits so theres little differance .
Good points on both counts lol. 2 singles may be a very good call...easier to pack too I bet. Any recommendations? The one we have is 5cm...I may treat myself to something thicker
Yeah torture it in the bath for being so mean to you and buy two nice singles. Anything from 7.5 to 10 cm will give you a lovely nights sleep and if you go XL you get space to lie flat too
I found all three of mine lost some air, due to not tightening the valves enough. I try not to over tighten things so they last longer. I now screw them really as hard as I can, and this solved the problem for me.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

XL isn't an issue for me being 5'1" but never say no to a bit of extra length
No the XL is on the width not the length. Most SIMs are quite narrow and you find if you lie flat or on your side spread out then your legs/arms hang off the side but with an XL everything stays on the mat.

Haha oops...I'm really not commenting on spreading arms and legs
Hi kaarenina, what brand has the 10cms that you ordered? I have the same problem as you have with my SIM, 5 cm, and am thinking of upgrading to a 7.5 or 10cm ...
