I have just fitted one to mine.
Pros
1, I can travel with some water in it for a brew on the way
2, I go away with my race bike, there is not always somewhere to fill up an aquaroll
Cons
Can't think of any

I have a switch to select either internal tank or external aquaroll, With the switch in external it works as normal with a submersible pump. With the switch on internal it uses a submersible pump in the tank. a level switch cuts the pump if it runs low. I have a fill switch, with this on it will fill the tank from the aquaroll until it reaches the high level switch. If i leave the switch in this position i can use the tank until the level drops to the middle level switch, then the aquaroll pump will start and fill the tank

Just curious, does your handbook not recommend anywhere that all on-board tanks should be emptied prior to travel?

Yes, you don't carry water in the tank. It really makes stability much worse.

We had one on out last van, but never used it once, in fact i know people that have actually taken their tanks out for extra storage space.

Its certainly not a big selling point for me.

we use ours all the time I just leave it on auto-fill

For one thing it means you never run out of water as when the outside tank is empty you still have 40 litres under the seat its very good if every body wants a shower as you have 90 litres to go at

I do empty it for towing through

My tank shouldn't affect stability too much. it is fitted under the fixed bed inboard of the water heater. so it is only about 400mm off the centre line and about 300mm behind the axle. I had the tank made with internal baffles to avoid sloshing. The tank is fully sealed with a vent to outside.
Ok it adds to the weight of the van but I only have a lightweight porch awning. I recon a tank full of water is a similar weight to a full awning

Have you put it on a weigh bridge when fully loaded, most people get a shock when the ticket is printed out.
