They aren't too much bigger than a normal camping chair, obviously a bit, we sat on loads before we bought them, it's our third year with them now and prior to getting them I was always in agony when sitting around, now I have no probs (touching wood desperately)

Thanks Debs. I am definitely looking into these. With my dodgy back, the three things I am worried about with camping are pitching the tent, sleeping and sitting around in the evening. If I can get hold of these at a decent price then that is one less thing for me to worry about

I have to say, Ive got my eyes on the hi gear kentucky at GO. I have had for a few year but I would have to buy 2 and can never afford them-even with the 50% discount. I always have to have a sit in them in the shop and can never get out of them-perfect for snoozing in (saying that, I can snooze on a log).

When there's a knock at the door, why do dogs always think its for them?

Have you got a link for the chair please Morepints? That looks really good. How small do they pack up too?

I already have folding picnic chairs Caz, those are what I am trying to replace. I have some fantastic Lafuma recliners but they don't fold flat enough and will not fit in the car (Ford Focus hatchback) so I need something more practical until we can get a bigger car

A thousand apologies, Suzianna - lost track of this thread. They are the Coleman sling chairs, as suggested. They pack up into each bag about 4' (120cm) long by about 5" (12cm) diameter. They fit across the back of our Yeti boot, and are the last in/first out; hence driving over one while moving the car.

As they are sling chairs, there's no ridge to catch under the thigh. While there is a small incline, more deck chair than upright 'dining' type. When my back is playing up, I sometimes use a small cushion in the small of the back.

Because of the weak back, OH and I have just moved up to the camp bed/SIM combination. I used to like the Airic mattress, but found it a little too hard last summer. Used to have a Pennine Fiesta FC, where the beds were brilliant, but did the back in moving the thing around!

Hi
Perhaps not what your looking for because of cost. Was in go outdoors
They had a hi gear gravity chair. Reclines with a foot action.

Most comfortable thing I have ever sat on, even at home. 99 but 50 in the sale, not cheap i know but good all rounder chair , sun lounger

Think the brand is hi gear Hawaii.

Cheers

John
