They are a great addition to your camping kit. It is amazing how many things need draining that you never even thought about and a normal colander is too big to take.
Invested in one of these from the pound shop. Also picked up a 4 pack of coloured flexible chopping boards for £1 also which I intend to use on top of my little wooden chopping board.
Local camping shop had the colander's in for £3.99!
Those flex chopping boards are great, I got a set about 2 years ago from Lakeland (expensive)for tin tent and they are still in use. The ones at home are showing signs of wear and they were Morissons ones but they are cheap enough to replace as and when they get worn out.

Must admit , I too looked at getting the collapsible colander , how ever this is one time "head won" my pans has drain threw holes in the lids, and I have a small pan strainer like this.
Flex Chopping boards yep , have some of those and they seem to work well.
