Can't speak to the Jumbo Joe, or the normal size one, but after using our Weber Go Anywhere for the barby, we put one of the firelogs on. Works great. The G.A. is no longer sold though.
If you can find a camping barby which can double up to use after as a safe fire, that would be best space-wise.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
We bought a fold flat bbq from B&M last year for £12. Worked great as a bbq and used it on two separate trips as a firepit and is hasn't buckled as yet.
Other cheap space saving option is a small bucket bbq? Used that in our first year camping and no problem either.
Must add, we were careful about sparks for other tents as obviously no spark guard on these.
Asda did a collapsible fire pit complete with spark guard last year for around £20 where you removed legs and stored them inside.

We bought one of the Asda ones and love it but it is quite big - even with the legs folded down.

We got the following from Asda £25 a couple of years ago, we use it as a bbq and then turn into a fire later on in the evening. Great thing is, it has folding legs.

Thanks for the reply.
It looks like the legs fold underneath the "bowl" looking at it? with no screws needed to re-assemble?
If so, that looks great.
A Smokey joe jumbo would be great but maybe overkill...
Decisions decisions.
Anyone able to argue FOR a Smokey Joe over the above fire pit?
bucket bbq, great for making smores, and a small amount of grilling, plus can sit around it late in the evening for a bit of warmth, can be bought very cheaply in the local supermarkets and such like.
Hi Gimpymoo, yes the legs do fold under and its just attached with suspension pins which pull in and out of the hole on ours, so no assembly required. I store it in a large Ikea bag to transport so it does get anything else dirty when not in use.

We have this one, £24.99 in B & M's. Legs unclip and fold in lid turns inside out and sits inside, so its just like a bowl shape, we usually get outs in the top of our trailer.
