And we take our sky plus box from home with us so we can watch all the channels i watch at home

Of course the joke with a Sky+ Box, is that if there is no satellite signal it will not let you watch recorded stuff.

That is one of the reasons why we use a Freesat+ reciever so we can watch recorded stuff when there is no satellite signal, and for when we do over night hotel stop's whilst in France.

Simply a case of using a SCART or HDMI lead, to hook up the Freesat box to the TV in the hotel room.

No need for a satellite compass, it's all here in the original article I wrote for UKCampsite "The art of aiming a satellite dish" Quote: Point the dish ESE, roughly half way between east and south. (approx. 135˚ magnetic). Unquote. Then start moving it slowly towards South.

The Astra 2 satellite cluster should be the first that you start to pick up.
