Just to add to that, having looked at Gaslows price list, a cylinder costs £75 .

Unless you use a lot of gas, it's not going to save you money for a long time.

A Gaslow cylinder has a service life of 15 years, that works out to £5 per year, how many gas cylinders would you use in a year?

i have seen the ads for the permanent gas cylinder fitting and external filler from gas low - No problem - But how many of you have used LPG pumps -( Propane by the way) on petrol stations

My car is LPG and apart from motorway services LPG pumps are always tucked out of the way and they take twice the as long as petrol to fill - This would make filling a caravan tank awkward. Plus what dop you do if you are on site and you run out?

Motor home - fine if you can get in to the pump

Caravan - Quite awkward

As a camper, not that many but I can imagine it being a good option for 'vanners.

I had a good discussion with a Gaslow chap at a stand recently.

He tried to sell me the cylinders on the grounds of  ease of use and availability of gas when abroard.

On economic grounds they do not stand up at all. I can't recall the exact figures but the bottles are about £70 each, (two needed) you then have to buy the pipework, gauge and have the kit fitted (with filler cap through the side of the caravan). In all maybe £300 ish.

You would have to be an eskimo and living in the van 24/7 to see any benifit whatsoever on economic grounds. (IMHO)

I don't think that Calor need worry too much yet!

regards

Mr Ulti-Mate
