Tried the enamel baking tray on bank holiday Monday as weather was soooo good!
I baked veggies which were lovely but it stuck to pan around the edges (not on the bottom) and took hours of scrubbing so i wondered if this was due to lack of the deflector or would this happen anyway? Any tips would be gratefully received as i dont want to spend my holiday scrubbing!
Just looking at getting a Cadac Safari Chef myself so was interested to read this thread. Thought I would share the fruits of my research. Hope they help.
Cheers Ian

I suppose it would be best but you could try any roasting dish well greased/ oiled. Remember to use the deflector and maybe the wire pan rest? Someone who has tried it might help but life is an experiment!
This is my original post, since there cooked everything you can do at home. cadac adventures

I was going to get a Cobb but not sure now, anyone tried a cadac and a Cobb for comparison.

I have a cadac safari ( the little one) a Cobb and now a cobb supreme.
Never really used the Cadac much so I am probably not giving it a fair review. My model needs the big BBQ gas so that adds to the volume.
When I did use it ( fry ups and BBQ) it worked great. I never tried to roast anything.
I love my cobb- so much that I bought the supreme which is a big disappointment.
When we last went camping we used a little blueit for the kettle and the cobb for everything else. in the morning we would use the night befores heat beads (once you've finished cooking dunk them in water and leave to dry) to cook the breakfast, whilst eating brekki we would put the wok on full of water for washing up.
Lunch saw 4 new beads. Dinner swathe 4 beads from lunch with 4 more new ones. Roast chicken and salmon and roast veg. mmm
If I had to choose it would be the cobb. would I sell my cadac? probably not
