A Trailer! Thats what we have just brought - good investment; now plenty of room in the car - 2 adults, 2 kids. Cheers Dan

Just to rub it in- I got an almost new roof box from a local yard sale for 20 quid last week! - well chuffed!
Like the idea of putting the kids in it- is there any law that says you need to take them out when you get to your campsite?

My progression:
1. Bike plus five panniers ... low one man tent.
2. Car with tent
3. Car with roofbox and tent
4. Car with roof box and tent and Erde Trailer
5. Car with roof box, larger tent, Erde Trailer
5. Car with roof box, Erde Trailer and bike carriers on trailer.
6. Car, larger roof box, Folding Camper, bike carrier, boats and small tent
I'm thinking of converting a lorry ....

Our second car is a 16 year old LWB Shogun and that is only just big enough with 2 adults & 2 kids and all our camping stuff; and that's after carrying out an operation of military like planning to fit everything in! The only problem being if we have to pack up in the rain then we're gonna get very, very wet lol! So, next time we're going to have to take less or also buy a top box or a trailer (the 'outlaws' have got one so we're on a charm offensive to see if we can 'procure' it haha!)

We were given a huge roofbox about 10 years ago, just about when we started camping again. However, after so many trips in the British weather,it seems to have shrunk, and now only holds half of our gear. Seems like a common problem.
