Hello, we are going camping in June to North Wales. I have arthritis in my knee and cannot kneel on it or squat down. It has gone worse in the last year, and I'm wondering whether a raised airbed would make life easier to get up off, or a campbed? I know that the size of the bedroom compartments is only 3cm wider than the double airbed size so am a bit worried whether it will fit. Has anyone any ideas. Really do love camping but might have to make some adjustments!

Go for one of the army style camp beds these are widely available. These sit around 18" off the ground and are very comfortable.

Anne I have had both hips done & my knees are on the way out but we use a raised double airbed with no problem in a Monty 6, we tried the camp beds but they were too long for the tent we had at the time & Pat didn't like the fact they were single so we sold one & have one left, you can have it for a fiver if you are ever in Salford. But Argos do them as well.

Thanks everyone. I have ordered a raised single airbed to try out. Failing that, my son has a camp bed I will have to see if I can sleep on. I would normally roll onto my knees and then stand but cannot bear to kneel on it now. I'm only 50! Can't give up yet!

Hi

my husband suffers from arthritis in both knees and what we have done is get 2 low camp beds from go out doors( the £10 ones) and we tie the legs together so they don't separate during the night which in effect creates a double bed we then put on top of them a double air bed which gives us a decent height bed that makes it easier for hubby to get in and out of is comfy and has the added bonus of being off the ground plus

anne b I had a knee op last year & I have been told I can't kneel for at least 2 years if then. So we bought an Outwell Posado double absolutely brilliant as it's the same height as a bed. Also warmer as not on the ground. they do singles to. Another bit of advice add a SIM on top 7 wow just like home!
