Hi all. can anybody help, I have the above awning and when taking it down this time the rubber ends of the steel poles stayed behind in the outer sleeves. These rubber ends are stuck onto the poles at the end and I presume they help protect the caravan sides from the sharp ends of the poles. My problem is the rubber bits are stuck fast at the top of the sleeves and I dont know how to get them out, has anybody had this problem and how did they solve it. Many thanks for any help.
I havent had the same problem with ours but is there any way you can feed them back down the sleeve part wat and then ram the pole back in then withdrawing it slowly. When you erect it next time the pole should slot back in the rubber if you dont manage to get them out.
Thankyou for your reply, hubby has tried your suggestion but it seems as if the rubber bit is too narrow to get the pole back in, and as you cant see what you're doing its a bit difficult. If we manage to get the rubber out we will glue it on and hope that our glue holds fast.
I too have a problem with the ends of the roof poles staying in the canvas.Has anyone found a solution to this problem? will it still beOK to assemble the awning with the ends still in th canvas?
We have just bought the Kampa 390 and had the same problem with two of the rubber ends. They were stuck fast too. It took hubby ages but he eventually got the rubbers out by 'wiggling' and pulling the rubbers down the sleeve. You can feel the actual shape of the rubbers. When he got the rubbers out the steel pole and the rubbers have a hole in them so he tied 2 small pieces of string so the next time we put the awning up the rubbers came out too. Not sure if glue would be any good and wasn't chancing it. Hope this might help.
I managed to get the rubbers out using the following method. Get a length of stiff fence wire about the smae length as the pole.Make a right angld bend of approx. 6mm at one end. put this up the channel and with a little twist you can get this into the hole in the rubber. Pull out gently. I had this problem with two out of three poles on my awning.
Just purchased a Kampa Rally 260 and the sponge vertical bumpers that should snug-up to the caravan wall actually gape. I've pegged them this way and that and under the van, but cannot get them to fit.
They say that they fit an awning rail height of 235 to 250cms [mine is 235].
I can purchase upright poles as an 'optional extra', but believe these should be included as standard..!
Hi
If you want a better seal with any porch awning you will need the upright poles. As for them being included, that would be easy but you would just pay £20 more for the awning to begin with, a lot of people already have the poles so some would say don't include them as I don't need them and would be paying for them anyway.

I have the same awning. three years old now never had any problems with it. apart from the roof puddles after heavy rain. I got the upright poles as an extra they work fine. also got the extra roof pole. not so good.
