hi all, please can someone help.
I am going to attempt camping for the first time next week...i have purchased a double stove and grill thinking it ran off the gas canisters that small ones do (my partner has lots from wagon driving) but it doesnt.it has a sticky out bit that a pipe goes on. so i figure i need one of the round ones that are wider and stubby looking...but the instructions say a 37mbar reg.??? so ive found a reg but there are resealable gas canisters and piercable ones? or do i need a proper calagas style one like used for bbqs? but thats huge i cant even move it.
many thanks. sorry if sound dim but i assumed all camping stoves ran off the ones that look like cig gas refil tins (as my hubbys does)

I would recommend a campingaz 907 bottle which is refillable and quite easily carried.  Expensive to buy but once you've got one you just need to pay for an exchange. 

These cost more than a calor gas cylinder, but are much more compact.  They still work out at lot cheaper than disposal cartridges.  The regulators for these cost about £5.

You need a gas bottle. A small 4.5kg Calor butane wil do the job & a regulator to suit with length of rubber gas hose & jubilee clips to secure hose at both ends. If you cannot find a second hand or free old empty Calor bottle to exchange for full one then you will have to pay £30 for bottle, about £16 for gas & another £10 or so for regulator & hose, so about £55 in total. Is that ok?

The gas bottle supplier, ie your local caravan/camping shop will supply you with correct regulator & hose for bottle. Dip the ends of hose into boiling water to soften to fit onto regulator & stove nipples.

Forget about the 37m/b regulator. You need correct regulator for whatever bottle you use which may not be 37m/b, but it does not matter, it just needs to be correct one for specific bottle & it will work ok.

Hi we have an empty camping gas 907 and a regulator that we don't need
We are in stoke on Trent but do travel you can have them if you want them where abouts are you based

Failing that - try your local tip for an empty gas bottle - you might get charged a fiver or so, but save about 20 quid in the long run!
