Has anybody any advice on portable gas bbqs? We've never used a gas one but thought one would be easier for just two of us.

We have This which is a good gas BBQ, which can be used as a full size BBQ or taken off its stand and used as a table top BBQ. It folds down to a trolley for packing away.

You can see more pictures of its 3 positions here. Just scroll down to and you will see it.

We have never had much luck. We bought a royal portable gas bbq. The fat would drip on the flame and just flare up.It would be good to no what I was doing wrong as it sits in the shed.

We have a table top one - can't remember what it's called now but we bought a cast iron skillet for it and use it for all our cooking now. (But we do also have the Landsman tripod for when we want a traditional - ie. proper- barbeque)

Thanks for your replies.

Bexamy, we have a small tripod type 'normal' barbeque which is basically a metal bowl to hold the bricks and a grill on top. There are three heights for the grill section. It's quite small and was bought cheaply from Wilkinsons I think. It's fine for taking with the caravan.  It's big enough for two of us and my husband hasn't a problem with it.  I think it takes too long to get going so I thought a gas one would be easier but they seem to be just a grill really.

Cadacs are very good only down side is that they are a tad heavy if you take all the accessories but the fat doesn't get anywhere near the flame and the cooking area is more than enough for a breakfast for 4 and with the lid on you can actually roast a chicken.
