We bought a Royal 3-Way Absorption 42l Cooler last year to run off gas when we're camping. However, while we've followed the instructions for ignition, there seems no way of knowing if it's working or not? (we never got it going on the last couple of camping trips last year). Obviously, we don't want to leave it on to see if it cools when there's gas involved!
We will be running it under a tarp, i.e. in the open air.
If anyone can shed any light on the matter it would be hugely appreciated - what are the best steps to take to set it up correctly to run SAFELY! on gas.
If you have a link to the product instructions, that would also be very useful (bought cooler last year; can't find instructions in box!)
It works like this..When you light fridge you hold down a button for 20 secs & then release, yes? If flame is not lit by then gas supply is cut off, the same happens if flame goes out, ie it is failsafe.
Have you got a vent along the back of the top of fridge? If so, just hold your hand a couple of inches above the vent & you will feel the heat if it's working. If there's no heat, then try the lighting technique again until you can feel heat from the vent.
