I would avoid the ones you have to build by slotting the poles thru sleeves and connect with junctions, they are sturdy but seem to take ages to assemble and un-assemble.
For our wardrobe we use an Outwell Bermuda, takes 2 minutes to open up. Look at the video I think these are the best types of furniture. They come in a variety of sizes too:

Having had one of the "slot lots of poles together" type I would fully agree with delabane - best avoided as they take a lot longer to put up!! We ended up investing in a gelert folding cupboard which had 4 internal shelves - unfolded and in place in a couple of minutes and much quicker and easier!

Hi
Have to agree the folding type are much much quicker to put up however pack size tends to be longer than the put it together type.

Thanks folks, presumably the hi gear one is similar to the gelert one?
I will heed your sage council!

To be honest they all look pretty much the same so you pays your money and takes your choice

We just bought a cheapie clothes rail from Argos (£9.99) and 4 of the canvas hanging shelves from Ikea (£4.99 each). Takes up very little space in the car, holds enough clothes for a family of four, and cost pennies!!!
