I am wondering if you can attach a normal extension cable to an EHU. You can never have too many sockets these days.

I assume you're talking about the 3 pin plugs inside the van?

I have an extension which goes down to the front of the van, no sockets up there.

Just remember not to plug everything in at once! Ok if low amps, like tv, etc, But the general rule is don't switch on two things that 'heat up' on together - for example, the electric kettle on to boil and an oil-filled radiator/microwave, etc., at the same time.

Don't want to patronise, but I presume you are talking about connecting inside your tent for the extra sockets - not using an extension in the EHU to "reach" the tent.

Will be fine if its inside and you dont overload (as suggested above), but dont have the three pin connector to EHU connection outside!

I have seen peeps who would put the normal extension outside their tents, turned upside down on the ground, as if that was sufficient to make it sufficiently water-resistant!

When I had a tent, any extension leads were hooked/looped around either a wardrobe hanger or a cable tie off the ground and inside the tent. After heavy rain one night, we had water inside the tent and the ehu was in a puddle - so off the ground if poss.
