I struggle with the spanner every time, can you please let me know how this fits without a spanner, John? I thought that all propane regulators had to be fitted with a spanner.

Edited to add, there seem to be several different ones - can you send a link to the one you have? Ta. :)

Is it this one?
It says it screws on, but don't you have to use a spanner for the gas pipe end?

I had a calor lite, which had a little indicator on it. It wasn't very accurate though, as I got an extra three weeks of gas out of it when it was showing empty!

The one I have connects to the regulator with a spanner but the regulator has a hand operated thumb screw that connects it to the gas bottle I can't remember the exact model but will try and find the paperwork that came with it.
Just found it on the gaslow website link below.
http://www.gaslow.co.uk/pages/products/list_4.htm
It is the one for propane cylinder
John

We bought a magnetic sticker that sticks on the side of your gas bottle that is supposed to indicate how much gas is left in the bottle. It didn't. It was worth the money though because we stuck it on when we had had a few and were using a table top patio heater and howled laughing because it was sdo rubbish. They may have improved since we bought ours (about ten years ago). It was called a gas level indicator. Might be worth a look.

John, is it this one? If so, I can take this info along to my local caravan shop and get one -that will save a load of bother every time they want swapping over! I just want to make sure I have the right thing.

Am I right in thinking this works alongside the existing one, and not replace it?

this one?

Yes that is the one it is for propane it just fits onto the propane regulator with a spanner and then any time you want to fit it to a propane cylinder you just fit it on and hand tighten.

Thanks John, will go and get one, it will save an awful lot of toil when swapping the gas bottles over.
