Take a platic screw top drinks bottle and cut the top off including screwcap just before the neck you now have a simple bag closure remove screw top thread bag through neck pull bag over sides of neck and then replace screw cap da da sealed bag

Idea looks ok, but wouldn't the cut plastic damage or cut into the bags? Zip-lock bags are as effective aren't they, but this is obviously intended as a free/cheap solution.

At first I thought good idea - then I looked again - isn't it easier to use what I call twistees and ... how can you get those beans out of the bottle top - again aren't twistees better - or is it me?!

Slide the bottle neck off the plastic bag first?

I believe it will work for dry or semi-dry food with not much liquid. However, the issue I have is that plastic bags are prone to punctures, hence I prefer to use air-tight plastic containers for storing dry provisions such as cous cous, rice, pasta and instant mash potato powder.
