We are looking at getting a new gas bbq to take away in our caravan as our burner has just fallen to bits on our old bbq. We have an external gas bbq point on our van and was wondering if anybody has used this as their supply point for their cadac. Would be grateful for any advice on this matter before spending what little spare cash we have. Many thanks
Yes it will work fine to a Cadac but at trying to keep the length of gas cord at 1 to 1.5 metres and with an awning up I much prefer getting the spare bottle (carry two calor lite's) from the locker and using it further away from caravan and awning than that will allow.
There has been (search in here for CADAC) some bad press for them in recent postings. Mine is fine and been happy with the two I have owned.

I created a small tail with quick release one way connectors, then created several different types of extensions, one for the external point on the van, one for use in the garden and one for butane and one one propane bottles, all works well and safe and secure.

Brilliant idea. Picked ours up last night. Noticed ideally u need to disconnect the gas pipe to store it so will look into that. Thanks
yes as it gets creased but as the inlet vale is as low as base of bbq ...I put a small piece of foam pipe lagging on it for travelling so you can curl the gas pipe underneath it and the lagging stops the gas pipe bending to much as to damage it. I find the cadac fits perfectly in the 'dinette' type under seat area if you have one

I use the external BBQ point to power my cadac. I use about a 10/12 foot gas hose with no problem. The only thing is after use I always roll up the hose and leave it connected to the van and the BBQ. Too much gas in the hose to keep disconnecting it. Have been doing this for years with no problem.
We’ve just purchased a Cadac for our 2nd hand Elddis Crusader
Now what I need to know is what connector do I need to purchase to attached the hose to the van external gas point ?
