Im looking for a new portable TV, only one place i can put the TV in our caravan as its a small 2 berth but the lcd tv's we have had have all had the same issue - ok for viewing straight on or even to the side but when you are tucked up in bed the screens go black due to the viewing angle being poor as the viewing angle is from below.
Im told its because ours were old LCD sets and would like any recommendations, dont want to spend a fortune but must have freeview built in and size around 15 inch or so.
any difference between LED's or LCD's?

On my Lunar the tv shelf was up high and I had the same problem. First trip I ended up wedging stuff under the base to tilt it, then I fitted a jointed tv arm. It was easy to tilt to the correct angle and swivel it between lounge and bedroom

just no room for an arm in the caravan, we did put a book under the back foot which did help, while away this time the TV packed in - have seen laptop type TV's that tilt but they are way too small.
With people watching TV in bed I thought this would be a common issue and manufacturers may have addressed it.

The more expensive the screen the better the viewing angle. I've got a 22" Samsung and the viewing angle is so much better than the 22" technika it replaced.

There's no difference between LCD or LED for viewing angle as it's only the backlight. LED use less power and give off less heat so better for use off EHU.

Get down to a TV showroom and try the angles out before purchasing.

looked at those Kogan TV's, they quote Viewable Angle90° (Horizontal) x 150° (Vertical) not sure in what relation this is to below screen?

If all else fails may have to go back to a 14 inch CRT portable with freeview box (don't think they ever made a CRT with in built freeview?)
