We are just starting out with family camping and have recently purchased the Vango Comfort XL for me and hubby. We intend to have them together and put a mattress topper and a sheet over for comfort.
When I lay on the Vango mattress in our front room I found it quite firm so would like a topper which softens that feel.
Can anyone recommend a topper to offer real comfort?
I'd second the letting some air out of them. We usually put ours in the tent and open the valves and just leave them. A few hours later we then do up the valves. If you put the valves at your head end you can then let air out of them once you are lying on them until you find a comfortable level.
Mind you if you are putting two together you'd probably still want something like a mattress topper on top to smooth out the 'join' and stop one of you falling into the gap all the time.
We bought ours from john lewis. V comfortable but a bit exy. Went for the synthetic one as we were worried about feathers getting damp. I find memory foam too hot and spongy.
