Hi folks, as the title suggests I recently acquired a camping stove/grill, I'm assured it is in full working order but has obviously been well used. My questions relate to the gas and associated regulator. The stove did come with a regulator but I don't know how old it is and believe it is good practice to replace them periodically anyway.
I would not be a heavy user so thought the 4.5kg butane bottle would be ample, I'd always just used the suitcase models and gas canisters. Would whatever regulator is suitable for the bottle also be suitable for the stove or do certain stoves require particular regulators ?
I have no idea of the make or model of the stove but have attached a pic of the current regulator and the info panel on the back of the stove in case this would provide useful in answering my query.
Many thanks,
NP

Yes, that regulator will fit a 4.5kg Calor (butane) cylinder (note the left-hand thread when fitting).
As the plate on the stove indicates, you could, if you wanted, use it with a (different) 37mb propane regulator.
The regulator (for most camping stoves 28mb butane or 37mb propane) is specific to one or more bottles - it's almost impossible to fit the wrong regulator to the cylinder!
You've pretty much answered your own questions. Yes it's a standaard butane regulator and will fit the calor 4.5 kg bottle. Yes change it for a new one the diafragm may be perrished . Can't help with the make and model of the stove sorry but it will run off butane fine. Gas type G30 (butane) at a pressure of 28 mbar which is what the regulator will supply. Hope this helps.

If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, you obviously haven't grasped the gravity of the situation.
I think it depends on the attitude of your "recycling centre" staff and their interpretation of the Regulations, or that of carboot sellers/local advertisers who may not have read "This cylinder remains the property of Calor...etc"!
You may be lucky enough to find a discarded one at the roadside, or perhaps be given one by someone who's giving up camping or caravanning - don't worry too much about the size, you should be able to swap any of the other cylinders in Group A for a 4.5 (or 3.9) kg one.
If you have to get one from a shop, I think you'll have to pay in the region of £30 for the rental agreement, in addition to the cost of the gas.
