I am referring to the double burner in a green box for this post. So. What'd ya think of them? Bulky? Smelly? Ease of getting fuel? Performance? Value for money? Amazon reviews are favourable, but I wanted to know what you all thought of them. Couldn't find a thread, so I'm sorry if I've missed one that tells all. I have already had a Cobb (too bulky and slow), and have two Cadacs ( the big one and 'son of Cadac' - both been great). Fancying something that doesn't require a bulky gas bottle.

Best cookers I have ever used. Kept properly serviced they are safe and reliable and will last long enough for your grandchildren to get a lifetimes use out of them, probably your great grandchildren as well.
Some have criticised them for being bulky, but if you take a gas double burner plus even the smallest gas bottle then the Coleman wins hands down.
Fuel is readily available if you use unleaded rather than the ridiculously over priced Coleman fuel and properly maintained the stove shouldn't reek of petrol. It will also light in the coldest of conditions when gas just refuses to vaporise. Minus 40 in Canada didn't phase it.
Down sides? Can't really think of any.

I first saw someone use one when I was struggling to cook on a suitcase stove but due to the breeze the food wasn't heating up. Meanwhile this guy took out his stove, cooked on it and put it away while I was still looking at the same sad piece of bacon. I thought, 'I've got to get one of those stoves!' and haven't regretted it.
It's a good powerful flame, as long as you pump up the pressure, and there are no bulky gas bottles to carry. It's good and reliable at low temperatures and has its own built-in wind shield. Everything packs away neatly into the metal case with its carrying handle.
I haven't used unleaded in it, partly because I assume it will be smelly and partly because I have read that it can clog up the stove eventually. There are quite a few posts about this stove if you hunt for them. I have used Aspen 4T, Coleman fuel and Primus Powerfuel, all of which work well.

We purchased ours in 2006 and have used nothing in it except normal unleaded fuel straight from the pump. No smell, never had a single problem and still use it every time we go away, great bit of kit :o)

Same here, nothing but unleaded, use it when sea fishing in winter & it gets a bit breezy at Blackpool but bacon & tea are soon done.

I've got one as well...Though haven't used it for a while...Only ever used unleaded in it...No smell nor tainting of food...Very rarely used the second(left hand) burner and when I did noticed a slight reduction in pressure in the main burner(right hand) but that could be because mine was an old second hand one that by the look of it had been well used before I got it...
I use the sportster single burner stove on backpacking trips as the fuel is easier to pack than several gas canisters...and seems to last longer over a 2-3day trip...
One tip if using unleaaded...Remember to use all the fuel in the tank...and pack the stove away empty if not using it for a while...as leaving it full can leave a residue on the inside of the generator and over time can cause the stove to fail....
