Is this true?
Yes,the Basecamp XL absolutely will fit into the Dreamtime XL cover. I know, because we have both.
We actually bought the Dreamtime XL cases to give a bit of additional luxury to our LuxuryMap XL Thermarests (which are the same width and length as the Basecamp XL -which we also have- but thicker), for longer stays and when room is not so limited.
When I first unpacked the Dreamtime XL cases I wasn't terribly impressed - they look like a fairly basic case, with a zip around 2 sides and a thin layer of compressed foam inside. After inserting the SIM and watching the foam topper spring to life, then trying it out, I changed my mind completely!
They're very expensive- and I had to think about it before buying, for a very long time! - but they are simply fabulous. The foam and the plush top is so, so comfortable. A plus is that you can roll the whole thing up together. It takes a few minutes longer than rolling up a Basecamp XL or a LuxuryMap XL on its own, but if you take your time it's no real chore and the Dreamtime has straps to secure it all, making a sort of integral carry case with carry handle.
I know this makes for an expensive camping bed, but it genuinely is one of the best things we've bought for camping, ever.
