Hi

We are new to the world of camping and have just recently been on our first camping trip. We have a Quechua family 4.2 pop up tent which is fab.

My question is we now know we would like some kind of awning for it and i have seen day tents but not sure if we would getting away with putting one of those up aswell as our tent.

My question therefore is could we put a different brand awning on it? for example a vango, outwell etc? we are wanting an awning that we can enclose if necessary and put some of our kitchen things in to make space in the tent.

any advice or experience would be appreciated.

Welcome, and lucky you, a great tent. I have seen one setup before and though it looked great, the owners struggled packing it away though.
The people we saw were in a group and they had a day tent as part of their group camp, some sites will charge you extra for a day tent/gazebo, but never seen a porch for one.

Hi

Thanks for the welcome. Our attempt at putting it away was scary as we were frightened of breaking something! Now we know its stronger than we realised it was fine and fit back in the bag!
I've seen some porches that say universal or will fit most tents but just not sure. Don't want to buy one and it not fit.

Contact Decathlon and ask them what, if any porches/awnings are available for your Quechua pop up tent.

Hope it helps.

When I went away recently, I saw a few tents sort of 'put together' - you could tell they were different tents, but they had somehow been joined up and looked great! Perhaps this would be an option - I would post the question on the tenting forum.

You could always pitch a gazebo ... overlapping the from of your tent ... we did with our Marechal tunnel tent ... it made a great porch and kitchen ... can add sides if needed.
Halfords do one quite cheaply.
