My daughter is 18 months old and we are planning a 2 night trip in the caravan next week just to a localish site to see how we get on. So I am quite nervous about taking her and am seeking any tips or advice people have on camping with a very active toddler in tow!
One idea is to create an enclosure with windshields in front of the awning to prevent and escapes. Yikes! What am I letting myself in for?!!!
When my neice was a toddler we took her camping. She loved it :p It all depends on how enthusiastic your toddler is.We played football and there was an on site park which helped.Good luck! Also have fun.
Took our 19 month old grandson and he loved it, didn't touch any of the items I expected him to in the caravan - plug socket , blinds etc. He loved sitting on the beds playing with his toys. Took some apps on the ipad to amuse him when raining (which it did)!
Outside he was happy to just toddle along, didn't run off, we took his bike to sit on and push him round the site.
Instead of a highchair we used a booster seat in the awning and a small camping table for his meals. We mainly kept the awning zipped up, but it was May half term, wet and chilly!
we have camped with our twins since 6 months and just ensure you always have something different to play with, playdoh, bubbles etc a bit of peppa pig dvd helps too!

I went in caravans from being born and I used to play quite happily in the caravan. We had a big pencil case of crayons, etc, plenty of paper, plus other games.
Don't worry about it. take it easy and use common sense. we took our 18 mnth old a few ago, and never had any issues, and still dont he loves it. (now 7yrs old)
If the little one cries at night, DON'T stress, there's nothing you can do about it and I'm sure you wont have a problem with your neighbours unless they are Mr or Mrs Grumpy, in that case it is them that are the problem.
Good Luck, have fun.
