Hiya - I'm new to here. Last year we had terrible issues with outwell plastic pegs bending and coming up out of sandy soil in the Carantec, Brittany. Anyone know which brand would be best as we're going back this year. Many thanks in advance :O)

Large "V" type pegs are usually the best in sandy ground.

Delta ground anchors, look for the review on the site here, they are the best pegs. Nothing else compares.

Another vote for Deltas, they are excellent especially when you need to rely on a good peg, like in high winds. Alpkit is good stuff too but I see they have no stock of the Ankkors at present. V shape is good as are plastic pegs with an X shaped shank, and nice and long to give maximum grip.

We had trouble with our Deltas on Shell Island in soft dry sand, I think the longer the better & V shaped are best but for everything else its Deltas.

Put two pegs in each place, at different angles.

Ah! pegs! love them or hate them! There are just too many variables, in my humble opinion,to champion one type over another. The Outwell offerings are really only good in "perfect" conditions, never usually encountered.
You have to bear in mind all sorts of things before deciding, for example ground type (probably most important), size of tent, wind influences, time of year, amount of guying points, ice & snow, rain, drainage, length of stay, experience.
In short, you will never have the ideal set up but thats half the fun! Consider this... you end up in sandy, loose soil and you only have rock pegs with you and an axe with a flat side you use to hammer them in and there is an abundance of driftwood about....
....adapt and improvise, thats the name of the game !

Not strictly true I'm afraid. It would depend entirely on the ground conditions. As others have stated, a good selection of different types is the best all round solution. I have personally found the 12" cheap 'x' shaped pegs the most secure camping next to the sea ontop of sandy mud. These are cheap and can be bought cheap on fleabay.

Absolutely double peg with 8" v's crossing and driven fully in.
Used this technique on the North Cornish dunes in torrential weather when other pegs were pulling out. Get the ones with a hole in the top so you can pull them out with a peg puller.
