I need an awning for my Freedom caravan and am open to suggestions. It came with a Sunncamp Swift porch awning, but I can never get it to fit right because the caravan's too low. I like this type of modern porch awning, though - as a solo camper, it can be difficult to put up a traditional frame awning, and I don't really want to spend £600 on the one sold by Freedom! Help!

Movelite drivaway should fit the bill. They have a hood bit which fits into the rail (if you have one) or over the back or sides to secure if you don't. Easy to put up as well. With the hood bit being separate to the awning, it doesn't matter what height the caravan is.

There's some pics of one in my gallery on my small quirky caravan for you! The first one is the Movelite XL, the second is the movelite square.

PS - put the hood/flap bit up first and temp. secure, before erecting the rest (two poles threaded through crossways and up into the pins at the corners). Pull it out and away from the caravan, make sure it's square all round and the flap is tight, then resecure or adjust the flap.

Thanks Jax365. I've tried using my Khyam Motordome Classic, but it's just the tiniest wee bit too low to fit the side of the caravan and you have to use a double kador to attach it to the awning rail, which takes quite a bit of force. I'll look into the Movelite XL, to see if it's a bit higher. The Freedom seems to fall right between two stools - not high enough for your average porch awning, not low enough for a motorcaravan awning designed to go with a VW Transporter or similar vehicle. Nice dog, by the way!

I have a Movelight Square (was told it was a Midi when buying it from Preloved, but hey ho!); if you are anywhere near Manchester you are welcome to try it.
I bought it to use with my Rapido folding caravan which suffers from the same problem as the Freedom - low awning rail height.
