Rock pegs, I use a lump hammer to put them in and a claw hammer to pull them out. We also have a set of delta stainless steel pegs which we use on the guys with rock pegs, they are expensive but work very well.

A second vote for rock pegs, a great all rounder. Next on my list are deltas as suggested by Keanonwuk, sadly I believe the stainless ones are currently unavailable due to bereavement.
The pegs I had when I had my NR Nova trailer tent were really good. They were a cast aluminium "V" peg with a tulip shaped lower end and a "T" bar top. they went in easily, held well and removed easily. I don't know if they were the original East German pegs or if they were from another supplier but I have been looking for a set ever since I sold the Nova
