Thinking of getting one of these for myself and two little girls for days out in the summer when you can't find a loo for love nor money! Littlest has problems with UTIs so not good for her to hold her wee. I wondered if anyone could recommend which may be better - obviously I will have to help her use it.
Tynxuk did a bit of Blue Peter the other day and made their own from a milk bottle. Depending on how old your girls are you might find this is a slightly better solution for the time being as the opening is wider. I have a sheewee and it is great but it does take some getting used to.
According to SWMBO, the trick is to practise at home in the shower, and apparently she prefers the shewee.
She will never leave home without it, so must be ok.
Bought the wife a Shewee 3 years ago and she said - I'll never use that !!!!
But many, many camping trips later and she wouldn't be without it. Takes a time or two to get the hang of it - don't press hard! Don't worry, the pee will run out of the spout no problem. See Shewee videos on their website.
The stiff plastic, IMHO, is better than flexible silcon as being flexible is just that - possible errrrr malfunction.....
I've got a sheewee and like you are advised did try it first in the shower.
Now use it every night when we are away and use a rinsed out small white persil bottle to collect urine (remember urine is sterile on exiting body) Rinse and wash thoroughly each morning. Discreet enough to carry in small bag and residual odour of washing liquid masks any possible urine smells.
