I saw an ad for a porch awning which the seller said had come with his caravan and he didn`t want, he had never used it. problem is, neither of us could work out how it fitted.
It was a Combi 1 2 trio , made in Denmark. Could have had "free" on it as well.
My old porch only has a channel piping on the roof, but this had a channel piping down the sides as well.
Can anyone explain how this would fit, and is there anything I need to be aware of, size, height etc.
It is a bargain price but not worth getting if it doesn`t fit.
Thanks.
You put them on like a standard awning and they fit at either the front of the van or the back. one end then hangs down part way along the van and you get a very nice and very secure porch. I have pictures of one fitted somewhere and I will try to find it this afternoon. I wanted something similar but larger ( generally a combi is about 8' by 6'so I have a small awning that I have fitted the same way but that gives me 10' by 8' which is much more useful.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
THis was my Isabella combi awning, it does not show as much as I had thought
THis is the awning I am using now which is an ordinary awning set up as a combi

Thanks , but I`m wondering how the piping will stay secure in the channel if it stops and then hangs down loosely - at the side halfway across the caravan.
You measure the height of your van from the ground to the awning rail, and measure the same distance from the eleastic at ground level on the piping edge, and make a cut in the piping. Then feed the awning through the rail with bit hanging down. It seems a bit heah robinson but it works nd is very secure. I used the yellow combi for 10 years in all sorts of weather summer and winter and never had a problem with it. I then bought a full awning or more space but lat year I bought the 750 awning that I am now using, i wish I had done it years ago.
