Hi
I am in the process of changing some of my lights to LEDs...only done 2 so far but seem ok.
1) I have circular ceiling lights ...about 7in diameter and I don't know how to take them off...my instinct is to prise them off with a screwdriver but prefer to see if there is a better way.......
2) Wondering is it really worth the hassle (and expense) of changing all the lights.
I look forward to any advice that will help
cheers

You are probably correct about prizing them off. But first try pushing the cover up and inwards first to see if it will 'squeeze' up a bit.

Here is where I get mine. A fraction of UK prices and no problems.

"...Wondering is it really worth the hassle (and expense) of changing all the lights..."

In my view, only worth it if you intend not to have electric hook up as power consumption of led's is a fraction of 'normal' 10w/20w halogen or tungsten filament bulbs.

One other benefit is that LED lights are much cooler and don't produce any heat

They could also have a twist off bezel, but you generally find that due to the heat they've experienced from the halogen lamps, the fittings become too tight to shift.

Try as suggested above, plus a very firm twist in either direction. Other choice is to post a photo in case anyone else has the exact same fitting to advise.

As for the value in changing, the only main benefit really is for rally/non EHU use as the reduced consumption is quite considerable. My former 10w halogens have been replaced with 0.6w LED units.

What you have to do is upload your photos to the web (e.g Photobucket then include a link to them in your post.

we have changed all our van over to LED's, the reduction in usage of the elec is unbelievable.   Changed ceiling lights, run an LED strip under each cupboard unit over bench seats and connected it to the spot light, removed bulb from spotlight, then our next job is to see if we can change/adapt our awning light -the one stuck on the van- to an LED but that may come after our hols. We ONLY use EHU for 2 nights through the year and this is in Dec, the rest of the time we are on solar panel. Good luck,

Thanks Gary E
I am being stupid here but where do you connect the strip to....you say spot light and remove bulb so does the strip 'plug in' to where the bulb was.
