We just use this table lamp with glass outer so it doesn't get hot. Then have a battery powered multi led light hanging from the ceiling. Just in case the power goes down.

We use these.

We have a couple, they can easily be moved to wherever you need light

Oh you lot are so funny....and a little scary!!!

Loads of options, thank you so much. Geoff, how smart is your tent?? My 5 year old just saw the photo and now she wants to take the TV with us!

Hubby is electrically qualified so would probably do a good job making one. I just like the look of the Outwell one as I am that kind gal. Let the battle of wills commence!!!

Another thumbs up for the Outwell Castor. We used ours for the first time a few weeks ago. We'd always wondered why everyone elses tent seemed brighter than ours, now we know, they must all have this lamp lol. Its great, really bright & lights up all of our tent :)

Agreed, I think its a brilliant light.

I bought two 10w LED floodlights from eBay for £17 inc delivery and they do a decent job (IP65 rated but need the cable extending).

I did pick up a 30w one too of Amazon for £20 that I was going to hang from the ceiling of the tent. It is very bright but at 1.7kg, it is a bit of a heavy beast!! Guess I'll have to keep the the 10w ones!!

Another vote for the Wilko-type clip light, fitted with LED bulb that has plastic cover: no heat to speak of. Something like this 40w-equivalent jobby from B&Q:

We use rope lights great light but not too bright and they look pretty! Bought ours from Amazon and then just wired them ourselves. (Well a friend did if I'm honest!)
