So sorry you've had such a sad time but I've no doubt you will find lots of help and support on here and on site. I always feel walking dogs is a good way to start blethering. How about looking on the meeting up section on here (go back to all forums then search down the page) as you may be able to get together with folk that way :)

Another cheap & very compact item which I discovered on here, thank you everyone are emergency foil blankets. I bought a pack of 5 for less than a quid each and have used them quite a lot - covering the coolbox in the awning, as a sun shade on top of the awning, insulation under an airbed, extra blanket, wrapping up damp towels on the way home.

Best camping advice I've ever had is don't get cold. Make sure you have enough warm clothes especially at night. A hot water bottle doesn't take up too much room either.
