Hi,

I'm looking for a cheap gazebo and came across these two

halford £40 and 3mx3m

halfords gazebo

tesco £21 and 2.4mx2.4m

tesco gazebo

I thought this would probably have been discussed to death already but I couldn't find a thread on it. It's for occasional use, around 4 times a year, and maybe some shade in the garden for the kids when it's hot.

Does anyone recommend one over the other for any reason or a different gazebo all together?

we don't use a gazebo often whilst camping as we have a tarp, but when we do we use an Ozark Trail Gazebo which we bought from Asda when it was on sale for £20...it's usual price is £30...

many campsites and campers frown upon the kind of gazebos you've mentioned in your post due to the damage they can cause to tents if they break free in strong winds...the beauty of the gazebo we have is that it has flexi poles (much like tent poles) and can pack down nice and small so doesn't take up much room in the car...the mesh sides are also invaluable if there are midges or other bitey insects around...

I'd quite like an Ozark Trail Gazebo, I think they're discontinued though. I'd be interested in an alternative if anyone knows of one. Must pack up small and have four mesh sides!

the Ozark gazebo is always selling out in Asda and then being restocked again...it's a very popular item...plus i've also seen them for sale on eBay and Amazon...

A lot of campsites are banning them due to the danger and damage they do when they take of in the wind.

I'm looking for one for a small farm festival where the family camping field is beside a stream. Midge heaven!

Hi All,

thanks for the replies, we don't go to commercial sites, all I want when I go camping is a toilet and a firepit.

I know you can get much better ones and my last one was a decent one but it eventually broke and I can only afford a cheap one at the moment.

I'll check out the asda one as well - thanks.

If it gets windy we take it down or drop it down to half height so it shouldn't go flying off anywhere!
