No poles with DD Tarps.
I use These.
No idea how they compare with other makes and models, as these are the only ones I've bought/used, but as they are adjustable (telescopic) from 1.14m to 2.13m, and despite regular use, have neither broken nor bent any of them, I'd say they were more than good enough for me! :-)

They are actually black, not the shiny silver depicted in the link.
