Hi

I bought a Outwell Nevada M 2012 from millets 6 months ago and put it into the garage awaiting my first camping trip.

I unpacked (for the first time) it 2 weeks ago to find there were no poles. Before you say it, yes I'm an idiot!

Millets don't want to know and outwell dealers only want to sell me a new complete pole set at £160 rather than giving me any info to help make my own.

I would be really grateful for anyone who can advise on how I go about making up my own replacement poles? at the moment I don't have a clue where to start so hoping a fellow camper can help.

Thanks

Matt

If you only bought it 6 months ago and have the receipt I would go back to Millets and refuse to leave the shop until they did something

Maybe the ones missing from Matts tent 17

If you genuinely haven't had the tent out of the bag I too wouldn't be letting millets get away with this, it will be quite obvious that the tent hasn't been used. I find making a fuss in front of other potential customers often has the desired effect.

Not something I have had to resort to myself, but a friend years ago had a problem with Rumbelows, so one Saturday he drew up a sign stating his grief with them took a garden chair a packed lunch and flask and sat outside their store accosting customers going in whith his plight. He did manage to get a few sympathisers who went next door to Comet. Eventually the store mangaer came out and he got his refund.

Don't give up make yourself a nuisance to them. Millets and blacks have some of the worst attitudes to their customers I have ever encountered, their company policy seems to be to avioid, exchanging, refunding or keeping to their word. I rarely use either of them nowadays, they could learn a lot from Go on the customer services front.

Try Allweathers in Essex, they might have some.

Thanks everyone - you're probably right chappers2341, I'll bet they were mine!!

We are still battling with Millets and they haven't given us a flat out no yet, but they are very unhelpful overall.  Maybe a sit in protest would help - i could always camp outside the store, oh no wait, i haven;t got a tent!

Allweathers were really friendly and helpful - but no luck with spares from them.

I suppose what I really need is a list of pole lengths and a diagram from another user so i can make my own up - anyone who can help out there?

Hi,

I agree with others that Millets should sort it out, but if not, does this thread help:

Thanks Nutkin - yes it does help a bit. The only thing is I have never seen the poles so i need a bit of help understanding it.

The replacement outwell poles that you can buy obviously come in sections. Are these sections all a standard length, so for example when the post says i need 9 sections I know how many replacements to buy?

Hope you can help.

Matt
