Hi

We have been camping last year once and twice this year, but for the first time abroad this year, we had issues with the Campingaz Electric coolbox not really doing the job for us, as temps were peaking at 35 deg and things were not keeping as well as hoped. We noticed alot of other campers had mini/table top fridges with small freeze areas 45 - 50L capacity. Anyone on here have experience of these and what the pros & cons are. Also is it possible to plug these in in the car via an inverter ?

For truly portable fridge usage you need to be looking at somthing like the Waeco CoolFreeze units, we have the Waeco CoolFreeze CF25 which is great for the 3 day journey to the South of France in July.

In fact we have been using the Waeco CF25 as our main camping fridge, although at just 23lt it is quite tiny to use as a main fridge, although we seemed to have coped.

Back in February I splashed out on a new Mobicool C40 mains only camping compressor fridge, a bargain at £139 which included delivery from Obelink in Holland.

The Mobicool C40 will be used as a packing box for the journey, only to be used as our main fridge for a fortnight campings.
